Netanyahu Claims Historic Strike on Houthis, But Key War Planner Escapes

by admin477351

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has claimed an historic victory, describing an Israeli strike that killed the Houthi prime minister as something “no one has done before us.” However, the celebration is tempered by news that the key war planner behind attacks on Israel, the Houthi chief of staff, escaped.
Netanyahu celebrated the death of Ahmed Ghaleb Al Rahwi as a “fatal blow” to the Yemeni rebels, who have been targeting Israel with missiles and attacking Red Sea shipping in what they call an act of solidarity with Gaza.
The raid demonstrates a significant intelligence breakthrough, allowing Israel to strike the group’s leadership deep inside their capital. The failure to eliminate the main military target, however, leaves the group’s operational command structure intact.
The Houthis have promised retribution for the strike, ensuring that tensions will continue to escalate. Experts suggest that while the attack creates chaos within the Houthi leadership, it is unlikely to deter a movement fueled by powerful ideological convictions.
