Kaylee Hottle, the talented young actress celebrated for her portrayal of Jia in “Godzilla vs. Kong” and its sequel “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire,” has tragically passed away at the age of 18. Her untimely death resulted from a car accident that occurred in Frederick, Maryland.

The Texas School for the Deaf, where Hottle was a student, confirmed her passing through an official statement. They expressed deep condolences to her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her, highlighting the profound sense of loss felt by the community.

The fatal crash took place early Tuesday morning. According to local law enforcement, a 1995 Honda Accord veered off the road and hit a culvert. Preliminary investigations suggest that excessive speed was a significant factor in the accident.

Hottle, who was a passenger in the car, was rushed to a nearby trauma center but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. The driver, aged 19, sustained injuries that were not life-threatening, while another passenger in the vehicle chose not to receive medical attention.

Hottle’s role as Jia, a deaf orphan who shares a unique connection with Kong, earned her widespread acclaim for her authentic representation of the deaf community on the big screen.
